a full day of Cultural Awareness and Cultural Sensitivity
Training to assist organizations:
Build trust relationships with
Aboriginal people and their communities.
- Gain understanding of the culture
of Aboriginal people.
- Understand the historical, current
and future trends and challenges of Aboriginal people
in Canada.
- To provide the necessary tools
to effectively interact, communicate and consult with
Aboriginal people and their communities.
- Build trust relationships and establish
a business case with the Aboriginal Community.
- To foster a diverse workforce
in organizations that includes Aboriginal people.
During the training session,
you will:
Explore the concept
of Native Culture and Spirituality.
Participate in a smudging ceremony.
Feel the heartbeat
of Mother Earth as the elder plays his drum while chanting
Native songs.
Learn to use the
Talking Circle Concept to have an open and honest discussion
with your peers.
Build skills that
are needed to work effectively with Aboriginal peoples
and their communities to maximize the level of trust
and productivity.
Explore issues affecting
Aboriginal Peoples and their communities.
Learn how to build
effective relationships with people of cultures different
from the majority as you discover the communication
characteristics of Aboriginal People.

- The Indian Residential Schools
and its Multi Generational Impacts
- Aboriginal Self-Government
- Communication characteristics of
Native people
- Using the talking circle
- Indian reservations and Métis
settlements
- The Indian Act and The Treaties
- Terminology of terms
