Half
and full day programs
HALF DAY
PROGRAM - 9 a.m. to 12 noon
During your half-day cultural experience with
Eagle Spirit, you will have the opportunity to participate
in the following activities:
In this three-hour adventure, you
begin with a brief orientation at the 'Eagle Spirit
Tipi Aboriginal Cultural Centre'.
- Erect a 12 foot tipi with all the
poles while learning about its history
- Experience a smudging ceremony
as you learn about its significance and the sacred
plants used
- Visit a sweat lodge and discover the purpose and benefits of
this ceremony. On the trails along the way, Native
medicinal plants and herbs still in use today will
be pointed out.
- Discover how the bison came to
near extinction, how it recovered and observe how
pemmican was traditionally made. You will even get
to taste it.
- Explore the teachings of our Mother
the Earth
- Make a craft

FULL DAY PROGRAM
- 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
If you choose to spend a full day with Eagle
Spirit, you will experience all of the above activities
plus the following:
- You will be taken on a journey
to discover your spirit animal and then paint it on
a stone.
- Learn how to play an Aboriginal
gambling game called “Hand Games”
- Experience drumming and chanting
with drums provided for you to play
- Learn about the spiritual aspect
of Aboriginal culture and how it is related to traditional
Aboriginal way of life
- Have Aboriginal items and symbols
explained
